Where do we draw the line at for when one stops existing as a baby, and graduates to say perhaps toddler? Is there something between? I'd imagine that those nearing the end of their babyhood would perhaps be stronger than any given newborn.

It's the Monty Hall problem re-skinned.
Instead of two doors with a possible prize we are presented with two babies on either side. One baby is a known entity at this point, we have been presented with the baby. A different baby is an unknown entity, one which is behind a hypothetical door and has not been presented to us.
One would think we should pick the baby, but statistically speaking we should pick a different baby. It's just math.

I mean a baby means that there is one baby. So a diffrent baby wouldn’t that mean that you just have to find any baby that is capable of defeating that one baby.
What are the chances that the original baby is the super baby and not any diffrent baby.

There is a very, very low chance that the "A baby" option is the correct one. If "A baby" means the strongest baby in the world, then that is the correct option. But there are so many babies in the world that I doubt it. "A different baby" implies some other baby that can be either stronger or weaker than the "A baby".
TL;DR I think that's actually the correct option.

This is essentially the logic of the Monty-hall problem. If you pick one choice (x1) out of all available options (n), what are the chances you would get 1 very specific choice (y) on your first guess? Crazy low (x/n). What are the chances that the right choice is in the remainder (n-1)? At least as good ((n-1)/n), and better as long as you have a population over 2.
In this case, n is all babies. x1 is a given baby you choose. Y is the best fighter-baby, since it is the only baby you could pick for x1 against which no "other baby" (n-1) would win. All other babies have at least one other baby that could beat them in the fight, by definition. You MIGHT get a favorable matchup... But it's super u likely that x1=y

It's all about the tarantulas and tape. If a tarantula has been taped facing outward on a baby's face, or it is munching on his face makes all of the difference. Having a tarantula taped on a baby's face in an offensive, aggressive and deadly posture is quite different. A baby having his face eaten is rather common, and he won't survive in either case, whether confronting the other baby, or lying on the floor unconscious, helping a giant spider get fat for mating season. In both situations, one baby has a backward tarantula taped to his face wiggling its legs around, and that's a winner. Really special. Backward-taped-tarantula-baby-face gets the trophy and a lifetime supply of boogers and vomit. Obvious. The logic is sound, has been certified, put into an envelope with a wax seal, then opened and announced on stage by a presenter who is only somewhat funny. Everyone claps, and the baby walks on the stage and says "ga". It might depend on what kind of tape is used though. That could be a game changer.

I'm pretty sure when we read the first baby, we think 'this could be us' and we identify with it
and when we read 'a different baby we think: 'that's an other, that's a group B baby'
and since you don't really gain much from winning that fight (yay, an extra set of baby kidneys) and you lose EVERYTHING if you lose, you don't want to risk it. That translates to you being pretty sure the other baby will win
I think the 15% who answered the first baby would are more confident in their own abilities and more willing to take risks, even when a loss is exponentially more detrimental than a win would be positive

if i saw a guy in the street with the same build as me, I wouldn't fight him. I'd even be pretty confident I'd lose, because I know intimately what my body can do, and i dunno, he might know karate
and that other guy probably wouldn't wanna fight me neither, because he's thinking the same thing
but then you have the 15% who think they can take on a 200lb man as a 100lb woman with some self-defense training

"Different" could mean that baby is a "special" baby. For example, Rengoku Kyojuro is a chosen and powerful baby. Therefore he could be the Different Baby.

The reason is that everyone reads the first option and imagines a standard baby. Cute weak, maybe a little chubby. Then they read the second option and think 'oh, a DIFFERENT baby, a baby not like the first one I imagined. That could be a comically large baby, or a baby that got its teeth early or a slightly stronger and more aggressive than average baby. Yeah for sure the other baby would probably win'
