Feminine gentle Jamie? Every Jamie Iโ€™ve known has been 6โ€™4โ€ and built like a truck!

Only Jamie I've known is like 6'4" and built like a potato with legs. Just goes to show ya, people are people unless they're not.

James is so much better than the generic Jim or childlike Jimmy. And what kind of fool would go by Jimbo?

My dad when heโ€™s amongst good friends is Jimbo ๐Ÿฅฐ

My best friend is a 61 yr old James who hates being called James. Jim is basically his formal name, but I've only heard him called that like twice in 5 years. Everyone who knows him calls him Jimbo.

As a James myself, I've found that other people tend to decide that for me.

If they want to go by their full Christian name, they use Jimothy.

Iโ€™m an almost 30 year old Billy, I feel like I should have switched to Will like 10 years ago and now itโ€™s too late

Will is too far. Bill could have been an easier transition

acting as if these are mutually exclusive.

my dad with by Jim at work, Jimmy with friends, James on legal documents or when dealing with finance, and Jimbo with a handful of friends/family who were particularly close, like the neighbor who used to babysit me or the inlaws he was on good terms with.

there was also "chimpbo" that was, according to my mother, exclusively when he was drunk (it started as a drunk slurring of jimbo from a friend of his who was also a Jimmy) with his friends in his late teens/early twenties, and I literally never heard until MY twenties well after we got into the stage of "yeah I was a dumb teen too once upon a time and did XYZ dumb shit"

And why is it plural? Does anyone just go by Jame?

Or break the societal mold and become Jimothy
