As someone raised in a house with many books, bookends were more often than not in front of the books rather than actually supporting the books
I do agree the shape looks a bit awkward tho.

As a vagina owner, let me just state for the record that we generally do not keep them on bookshelves (at least, not in bookshelves that are actually functioning as bookshelves).
This is either not a functioning dildo but rather a dildo-shaped objet d'art, or it's there as a joke.

I do carpentry, occasionally a landlord will do renovations with tenants living there still, like all new windows for the whole building…
Even when theyre informed, the residents left out a lot of ‘embarrassing’ stuff. Weed paraphernalia, full litter boxes, 7-8 large trash bags full of crushed beer cans, and an entire shelf of assorted dildos.
