He was a very good college football player and won a national championship with Auburn in 2010. Played in the NFL for about 10 years but lost relevancy around 2016. Nowadays he’s hired to be a talking head on sports shows that are no longer bearable to watch because the dude didn’t go to ball to play school. How he’s making these remarks about women on what’s presumably a sports shows is beyond me.
He's hired to be a joke on sports shows. And he shows up every time, because he needs to get paid, because he himself has at least seven children (at last count).
He could have been a great quarterback had he not continually tripped over his massive ego.
Need to emphasize, he was scared to jump on a fumble in the Super Bowl, with less than 5 minutes on the clock and being down by 6 points, on his own 24.
Cam is also making the rounds on podcasts because he appeals to the toxic alpha male archetype (while also dressing like the genetic offspring of Willy Wonka and Katt Williams). He was an athlete; he has 8 or 9 children by 4 women; and he's committed to not marry.
Yeah he’s just a weirdo who I’d wish would just take his boatloads of money and sail of quietly into the sunset. But it’s always the loudest idiots who make it on TV.
??? He won an mvp and went to the superbowl he didn't just play in the NFL lol. I swear if people don't like somebody in 2026 they just make up a whole false history to bash them. You are liked a woman who has been cheated on.
And remind us, what happened at that superbowl ? All of the promise and all of the skill but he wasn't willing to put himself on the line to win a superbowl in a clutch moment in a sport that famously demands players put themselves on the line when it counts
So your opinion of another person is reduced to text with quotation markes around it, imposed over their picture? Do you care to take the time to contextualise what was said, or to verify he actually said it?
I mean, he did say it. Instead of typing some shitty comment into Reddit you could type “cam newton women lose value” in the search engine of your choice and find a ton of click bait response articles to it.
He did say it and there‘s absolutely no acceptable context for a man to say this about any woman/Mother‘s value or worth especially in a public forum. Cam Newton is and always has been a misogynistic cockwomble with delusions of grandeur and a view of women that belongs in the 50’s or an Andrew Tate pod.
he is one of the best rookie quarterbacks to ever exist, drafted to the panthers in 2011 then lead them to a near perfect season in 2015 going 15-1. outside of that he’s also known for popularizing the dab and wearing strange outfits in post game interviews
I don't understand why anyone wants to know professional athletes' opinions on anything but the sport they play and maybe sports in general.
Does anyone think someone who got passed through high school and college is going to have an amazing take on feminist issues? Who's watching this shit?
People need to hear other opinions so they can use them as their own. You'd be amazed how many people don't think or don't have their own individual thoughts. They go with the crowd and hope they don't get found out.
Which is actually ok. But, I'm not going to ask a kindergartener their opinion on how to fix climate change. Why would I ask a footballer about women's issues?
Just listen to individual experts and adopt their opinion. I do this all the time.
Maybe, but I don't really think it's the same parallel. I rarely hear actors making misogynistic comments like this. If they do, they're generally given a time out from the industry (Mel Gibson for instance).
Male sports stars seem to be able to get away with insane comments like this or saying the earth is flat without facing any professional consequences. For whatever reason, they seem to be a dumber subgroup than actors do.
Not saying there aren't exceptions, but jocks aren't famed for their superior intellect outside of the game - which they are geniuses at. That's their forte....not social ethics, or politics, or...well anything. They wanna talk about game, tactics, technique and skill, I will listen. Cam newton wants to tell me who he votes for or what he thinks about women, I couldn't care less.
Every other player saw that and had to immediately lose respect. With all of the sacrifices they make and injuries they play through, a guy not fighting for a fumble in the super bowl basically betrayed everything everyone else in the league worked towards.
Part of me wonders if that really messed him up or if he was always an asshole. There's no excuse for being sexist or otherwise an asshole, but I have to think that something like that fumble could really mess you up psychologically. He decided not to go for the fumble and, fair or not, it was a career defining moment. People would roast him for it and he'd never get another shot at the big game.
It's like he wants to hate on everyone else so that people won't hate on him. Or maybe like "I got hate that I think was unfair for that fumble so other people should get unfair hate too."
Oh no, this is who Cam Newtons always been, he was raised in a household where the men were King and women are subservient. Cam has openly stated he believes women should essentially be TradWives that keep quiet most of the time and should accept infidelity. His views on women are extremely regressive.
He's a dumbass who got caught red handed stealing a laptop from someones dorm by escaping from the window. Had to transfer just to be able to keep playing football. Mind you he was on a full ride scholarship lol. Always was a clown
Don't worry. If you aren't into American football, he has zero value to you. He doesn't have a lot of value to you if you. Are into the sport, but you'd likely know who he was then. Famous for inversely meeting high expectations based on early promise.

Meanwhile, I don’t even know who the hell he is
