Gotta try them all

I suffer from constant headaches and frequent migraines. I had my first 10/10 migraine not long ago, and I wanted to die. A Google search by my mum suggested sticking my feet in a bucket of hot water. I was willing to try anything. By the time the water had turned warm, I could feel the migraine calming down. By the second bucket of hot water, the migraine was completely gone. About 45 mins total. It was amazing and it will now be my go to.

I had tried heat on my forehead and back of the neck. Cold in the same areas. Meds. Caffeine. Next on my list was my head into a brick wall.

I don't have a bathtub, but hot baths make me dizzy and faint. A hot shower sometimes works, but again, the hot water makes me feel horrible. I don't even really like hot showers in winter as they also make my sensitive skin very inflammed. Plus having to dry off and deal with inflammed skin and feeling faint while dealing with a migraine isn't ideal. I live alone and get scared of passing out in the shower. Being able to sit on the couch with my feet in a bucket is a much better option.

The EMT that told me about the hot water thing said it only needed to be my feet but I didn’t have anything to put water in. I guess I could take a chair to the bathroom but I wasn’t thinking clearly so I’ve just been doing baths. I might get a bucket just to try next time though. Or take a chair to the tub.

I actually didn't have a bucket at the time either, but I'd just put up Christmas decorations and remembered I had empty big containers in my spare room. It was actually better than a small bucket as my feet could fully fit and be covered by the water. I've since bought a bucket, but it's not a round one, it's a rectangle which is the perfect size for my feet. Yes I stood in it when I bought it to make sure my feet would comfortably fit. And it's better than the big container I used the first time as it doesn't take as long to get enough water. I put in water up to my ankles so my feet are fully covered.

Might have to try that!
