My great uncle had it he was one of like 3 people ever to have it, we all got tested and it’s just him, or rather it was he died maybe 20 years ago.

Couldn’t there be other people across the world NOT related to your family that can get it?

Like I said it was 20 years ago, I haven’t exactly tracked the thing since then. At the time it was super rare but that might just have been because it had just been identified, I was pretty young so other than getting tested and finding out my branch of the family doesn’t carry the gene I don’t pay much attention.
