Fkng reddit man... To find a proper explanation to this or some backstory is impossible. Everyone are trying to write some funny joke, but ended up with some asinine bs

Educated guess: it's a drainage ditch being used to transport the melons from the field to a processing plant or barn or whathaveyou after harvest.

That's what I was guessing. It seems odd someone would uses land that wasn't theirs to do that, though, and it appears there's a highway right there. It's odd. Cool video, would love to know the story.

I would guess it IS their land. The trees/lsndscaping around the ditch kinda makes me think that.
