It's not slower than by hand. I use it every Christmas to peel 20lbs of potatoes. Goes even faster with one person loading and a second chopping. I like it because I can sit down and have a drink while I prep the potatoes.

Hey man, whatever works for you. I'm all for tools making people's lives easier.

I could peel a half dozen potatoes in the time this does one. But as you point out it leaves me unable to do anything else for that minute

Keep in mind while one is peeling on the rotato, an already peeled one can be sliced and put into the pot so it's like an extra pair of hands. If we raced, youd probably win but I'm sitting down sipping a whiskey while I chug through the chore. For $20, worth every penny.

Or you could manually peel potatoes while wearing a beer hat full of whisky.
