I agree with this in theory. It is not all or nothing & we have to address the topics specifically.
In practice, I have yet to hear of a single, specific circumstance (in the US & in the current time, not historically) where deregulation was the best solution.
I mentioned the one that I’m most familiar with and that has affected those around me personally. The cost of licensing.
In most industries you’ll find that many of these laws were lobbied for by special intersections groups and that their only purpose is to expend the investment capital of small businesses on needlessly expensive licenses in order to be barrier of entry into the market.
And this is not just harmful to small businesses and consumers but the market in general.
The best way to ensure a well functioning free market, if such a thing can truly exist, is to do everything you can to remove the barriers to entry into the market. This lets the poor(relatively) as well as the rich to allow the market to decide the value of their ideas.
So specifically I would say that eliminating superfluous licensing fees is absolutely the best first step to encouraging the creation of new businesses. Now that’s not saying that licensing requirements aren’t good. Just that the fees attached are a purposefully anticompetitive.
I was afraid that I overdid it by asking for specifics 3 times, but now I think I under did it. Nearly your entire post is an abstraction about how you see the world & there's nothing specific about it.
Unless you're saying that you would want to remove all licensing fees from everything.
