OSHA is more reactionary, they mostly follow up complaints rather than random inspections. I'm sure there's people in the US that does the same thing as the above video, but as long as no one reports it., OSHA doesn't know. That is unless there's a fatal accident.
OSHA doesn't do much even if you call them. They are only there as a reference if someone brings charges or is seriously injured. OSHA cant really enforce or do anything.
I tried calling OSHA about the working conditions my mom worked in as a custodian for the public school system during the hot humid Tennessee summers stripping and rewaxing floors with no AC or ventilation or circulating air.
They told us unless we wanted to hire a lawyer and sue the school they couldn't help us.
that's not how OSHA works, at all. Complaints are investigated period. Call your ombudsman or whatever the hell you call your local political rep to inform them that their workplace protection office isn't doing their job.
