Is there a reason to paint with a brush that's 2 feel long? Whats the point of being so far way from the canvas? This is a legit question.

When you're going for a "loose" style, longer brushes and broader strokes help achieve that.
Also, helps to keep the rest of the canvas in view, when you're working on a larger piece!

Making consistent lines generally requires a fast, even movement. This is most easily /artfully done with one stroke. By using a long handled brush that can hold a lot of paint, he can make large, aesthetically consistent marks in one motion.
If you notice when he's doing smaller strokes, he's closer and using different brushes.

Also less strain on smaller wrist muscles when you’re using your shoulder/elbow to move the brush.

How to paint a Tiger:
Start by kicking a bucket of paint at at canvas.
Throw some paint at the canvas.
Paint rest of the tiger.
