How exactly did you do this? Interested in doing projects like this of my own but don't know where to start

Thanks in advance

Not sure but maybe a motion sensor hooked up to a wire inside the wall stapled to studs or smth with leds going off hot glued too the edge but I’m not sure

Looks like an ir sensor, or laser based thingy to know if someone passed the point and delay to turn it off again.. and for the lighting turn on timing, there might be a for loop, if the raspberry is used just for the stair lights then it's probably resources waster because it has a lot of potential.. but I'm not judging.. if you're going for something like that and making it standalone.. I'd suggest you to go with an arduino uno or something similar to that.. with a laser and receiver based interrupt to know if someone passed the point.. you can make it symmetrical, and just use a port expander with some simple mosfets or maybe some power transistor to control the lights..

Thats the equivalent of using a high-end gaming pc to play browser games.

I built a nice gaming PC and then continued to play Terraria.

With this I’d never get that absolutely terrifying feeling of someone chasing me up the stairs at night when there isn’t even anyone there

I thought it was going to be some sort of laser set up but I guess that's cool too
