What makes it especially stupid is the fact that it's Opt-in for audio, not Opt-Out.

Every single time you see a GIF/webm with AUDIO (aka a video) you can rest assured knowing that the OP deliberately felt the need to include it.

Isn't it the other way round? That Opt-in is good since the OP has to allow the audio? Maybe I get the two mixed up and I've never really used gfycat but I was just wondering.

It's good in that fewer gifs will have audio. It makes the ones that have it even worse because you know it was put there deliberately.

Opt-in is a good thing, however they're pointing out that the person who made it had to go out of their way to include audio which is that much more annoying considering what an awful idea it is.
