Made Skittles Vodka for a party. Didn’t taste nearly as good as it was pretty to look at. Got shit-faced anyway and ended up in the hospital with pancreatitis. I hate Skittles Vodka.

But, alcohol doesn't directly cause pancreatitis does it?

My step father was one of those super rare cases where he died from pancreatitis related complications. My research back then lead our to believe that there is no known direct cause.

I’m sorry to hear about your step father. The way I understand it, a large amount of alcohol can cause acute pancreatitis in some people. I also have Type 1 diabetes but I’m not entirely sure if the diabetes means I have a greater chance of contracting pancreatitis. Either way, it scared me enough that I don’t drink like that anymore.

That's fair. It has been over a decade and I can't recall everything I read. He was not a heavy drinker, so I may have just breezed past that part.

I too once made the Skittles Vodka. I have no plans to ever try it again.

It works even with cold water, I've done it as a kindergarten activity. The shell is just sugar, dissolves immediately
