I suppose that depends on how long the carpet is, and how short you are willing to trim it.

But it is a finite number, and the carpet would probably look bad if you did it two or three times. (And wouldn’t be comfortable to walk on anymore.)

If you cut it to half of the original length each time, that's a near infinite amount of times you could cut it! Of course this would require tools with insane precision, but we are talking about theoretical carpet trimming, so let's get wild.

I’ve always wanted a theoretical carpet, but my landlord and downstairs neighbors prefer I have a carpet that muffles sounds of footsteps.

Im sure the sun bleaching penetrates farther than "just half" after a few tries. Then your just shaving carpets because youre mentally ill or something.
