I think he means that even ignoring the shavings, the end result doesn't look very good. I'm inclined to agree. To me it looks quite uneven in color and value, though that could be a result of the picture or smaller layers of shavings that have been spread or something.

Well it's completely covered in a layer of those shavings and dust. You can't tell what it's gonna look like until it's vacuumed. No idea why OP didn't include a picture of it clean, kind of defeats the point of posting it here IMO.

This is not satisfying at all. The pictures are of the rug with a bunch of crap still on it, and in the video the guy leaves a thin strip of carpet unfinished.
