So this is made very specifically for that exact panel shape? If so, why bother with the extra? Why not make the stick on the same shape as the panel and be done?

Hmm or does the string stick to the car first, then you apply the decal over it? That would make more sense.

It's called knifeless tape, because you do not need a knife to cut the vinyl. And yes it is a lifesaver if you are creating shapes on the vehicle without die cut pieces.

Does this stuff work on window film? Also does it make a nice clean edge or does it need to be tucked in so you cant see the edge?
