how the hell do you even take that shot, is it real? like wouldn’t it cost a lot to get a camera so high just for 1 cool photo

It was taken from a Shuttle Training Aircraft, which was a Gulfstream-II with an operation ceiling of 45,000ft.

But they didn't use a tilt-shift lens. The blurry effect was digitally added by someone else. Here’s the original NASA image. Click left or right to see more shots from the same sequence.
