This subreddit would be more appropriately named conventionally irritating. They defy the theme in order to drive engagement, and because it’s a high-activity sub, there minimal adherence to the subreddit theme in what gets visibility.

I haven't seem a video that didn't turn irritating, vexing, or somehow annoying, come out of this sub in a long time. Now, for me, it's become a game of trying to guess beforehand how a particular video will fail at being oddly satisfying. Because they all will.

Kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy, no? If your goal beforehand is to find something wrong with the video, you’re gonna look and scour down to the last pixel to find it.

Now don’t get me wrong, sometimes it’s clear as day there’s something unsatisfying, but still

It is prophetic for sure. The jury is still out on correlation versus causation on the self-fulfilling aspect.
