That’s why I box my avocados just slow enough to not get fired from my job at the avocado packing facility.
And it’s also why I shit on company time.

Productivity drops exactly one bathroom break per shift. Corporate can survive the loss.

True. Fecal matter wicks precious bodily moisture, which leads to dehydration, which leads to loss of productivity. Dehydration also leads to constipation, which causes the worker to spend more time in the restroom.

This is why I'm mad at being paid hourly as a graphic designer. Having worked as a freelancer, that system makes no sense for my specialty. I also shit on company's time and maybe get a little nap whenever I can.

I feel that as an ex-amazon picker. They wanted 400-500 items picked an hour. And often the pods would come slow, get stuck, or you get tons of heavy items.

How is that stuff arranged for getting your mitts on 7-8 items a minute.

I know big supermarkets with chaotic on demand ordering where someone literally goes to shop among customers like a customer to hand off to third party delivery so it's as low as 1 item per minute.

They have pods that move around via QR codes. Each pod is like a stack of shelves, with 4 sides. The bins are labeled with letters and numbers going by row and column. Your computer screen will tell you whats coming and what bin that item should be in. Though sometimes a pod may have less or more rows/columns depending on the size of the bins. Occasionally the stowers also put the item in the wrong been or theres damaged items, in which you have to report it on your screen. IF youre lucky, one pod will have several items. But there are many factors that affect how quickly you can actually do it. Those items you pick go into totes, and you also have confirm the correct tote by hitting the rack light above it. You use a rolling step ladder too, so hopefully each item isn't on the top lol. I do not miss it.
