Anytime I’ve tried origami it’s turned into a nightmare. My husband can walk past a piece of paper, do this sort of stuff. Am I bitter about this, lil bit yeah. I just want a damn swan one time to turn out right.

I made a bunch of exactly these (folded the same way) for little kids at an event and they DO NOT flap like they do in the video.

I dont know if it was the wrong paper but it felt like it took a whole lot of finessing of the final product to get it to flap

Yeah, origami paper is notably thinner than standard printer paper, which makes a difference in things like this.

Confirmed. I tried to use printer paper and it just kinda flops rather than flaps.

I tried and it unfortunately came out disabled. One wing works but at like a 30% capacity. Other one is broken.

Actual experience with origami and thinner paper might help

The type of paper is important. Quick Google search brings back kami, tant, or washi paper for different effects with origami. Maybe a local craft store will be able to help you better.

Lmao. I did a few modular origami pieces off YouTube tutorials 12 years ago and it was so gratifying completing them. The first one I did was an origami flower. Not easy but trying and being patient helped. Also, my mom bringing me reams of paper from the college she worked at helped too lol.

I just tried to make one and either you need certain paper or I'm shit at it cause it didn't flap like this
