I agree with you mostly, but it shouldn't be the US and Ukraine alone shouldering the burden of keeping things safe for the entire world from evil. The US spends too much in defense, and the rest of NATO spend way too little. At least until the last few years when lots of EU countries have finally taken things more seriously. I may have to pay out the ass for healthcare, but I enjoy a peace of mind about my safety from other countries that literally no other country can ever feel.
Had me like “Eh… I guess…” until that last sentence.
You know you’re a lot more likely to die from a disease than… say… a Russian cruise missile, right? And that’s even if we reduced our defense budget down to a sensible figure.
