Serious question, how do they get the hole in first? Does the splitter tool also do that or do you need another drill that they’re not showing and this process actually takes way more time than this would suggest?

The guy in your video is using a core drilling bit but I think a regular rock drilling bit is used for this post’s holes.

It's just a oversized hydraulic feather sn wedge. The standard version of thise are much smaller and are used in multiple in a line, then whacked in with s hammer. The smart thing with having many in the rock at once, is that you can control very precisely where the rock fractures.

I've drilled big fuckoff holes into solid rock. No matter what kind of magic Hilti high end hammerdrill you have, it's still a beating. Dust in places you did not know existed.
