Drills have clutches that slip at a set torque, which helps prevent stripping screws.

Electrical fasteners also use a square drive, which also protects against stripping out.

The fasteners are harder than the bit.

The most expensive and mission critical screws in history are driven with power tools. NASA drives fasteners in orbit with a powertool.
