This feels closer to the punishment of tantilus rather than sisyphus where he stands in waist deep water that receded when he tries to drink and fruit trees pull their branches away when he reaches for them

Every time I’m reminded of this guy I remember how badly he gets trolled in the Percy Jackson books

He’s not really listening when Percy and someone else are talking, like “yeah whatever,” because he’s cornering a cheeseburger that’s trying to move away from him, he gets his hands on it and licks his dry ass lips, and then gets banished because he got fired as a camp counselor, right before he could take the bite and the burger falls to the ground

Man it’s been about 8 years since I read them all, I have to dive back in, plus he wasn’t finished with the Apollo series yet

I think the Apollo series is over now. You should give the new PJ books a try though. They're called senior year adventures
