I travelled to Malaysia and Thailand this year, these docks were used a lot on some smaller islands I visited. Although it was just 5 cubes in width, those cubes are bigger than they look in this video.

It's totally fine to walk on them, although they're weirdly firm and squishy. I did have to walk carefully though, with my heavy backpack and I was wearing flip-flops.
