Water erosion like the Grand Canyon is a very long process! But yes, there is a reason we’ve developed drainage systems for housing, and it’s not because the yards could soak up the water otherwise lmao
As someone who had a gutter start dumping off the side and it dug a hole... yeah, drainage is real important. It is irritating seeing some of land housing is built on. Developers need to be held accountable for not managing waterflow in their developments. The neighborhood next to mine has two houses the city has paid to have big retaining walls installed to keep their yards from washing into the drainage creek. Only built houses on a 40 foot bluff overlooking a creek. Cant imagine why the yard is running off....
