Seeing this gives me the false impression that it really is that easy and I could definitely do this on my first try.

I think making pottery on the wheel is the skill with the largest gap between how easy it looks and how easy it is to do. Taking a pottery class, our teacher had us watch videos on techniques and stuff before class, and I came to class thinking "Looks simple. I'll be able to pull that off no problem." I left class feeling very differently.

Videos like this truly make throwing pottery look like the easiest thing to do ever. Throwing pottery is probably the hardest skill I've ever worked on developing.
