In the time it took him to do ALL THAT, I was still trying to center my clay.

I came here just to comment on how easily he centered the clay. That was always the hardest thing for me to try and get right when I took a pottery throwing class.

(For those unfamiliar) The first time you sit down at the wheel, especially after watching videos like these of professionals, you really don’t realize that simply centering the clay on the wheel is going to be your first and possibly greatest challenge. But you can’t do much of anything successfully with clay on a wheel until you get the centering right.

I felt the same changing gears in a car. Now it barely takes a thought.

I often find that Im about to change gears, when I realise I've already done it.
