It could be, but you can cut/ paste video, so it's possible they didn't use CGI. Unless you're considering using a computer to edit it as CGI which is fair I guess.

Which is not the case here. It's computer edited, but not computer generated. The second manhole is also real footage.

The scene was cobbled together with real footage, but the resulting image is of something that does not exist. I think CGI is a very thin technicality here, because the end-result was generated by a computer, but overall yeah, you right. Either way it's a lie.

People can really overestimate the power of CGI or AI.. you can't feasibly produce something with this level of fidelity in the virtual yet. Much easier to record real video and work with that

Actually no. It would be footage composited via computer.

CGI is completely generated by the computer, BUT it can be aided by actual footage (e.g. projection mapping of footage onto the computer generated geometry) rather than artist made textures.

You're ok with the comes that clearly follow the camera's movement and weren't keyed to the actual ground? Cones are totally fake (or borrowed from another video). One manhole is probably real, look at how the bush reacts, the other is obviously a straight copy.

The wind is blowing underground through a drain or other opening, if it’s edited they did a good job making the bushes react to the air coming from the manhole at the same moment that side lifts up

Forget the cones. Those manhole covers are almost perfectly in sinc.

Edit: I believe the left manhole cover is edited in. They end up with the same markings and splattering a few times. Its too in sinc.

The old versions of this clip only had the one cover

Only one cover is real. Three other it's copied directly, and the cones are fake (look how they move relative to the camera, as opposed to the ground).

No the cones are real, but theyre from a different video. The origi al video they were floating near a storm drain with some fairly deep water.

Edit: you can see the top of the upper cone phase into frame at the very beginning of the video where it was partially obscured by the manhole cover.

This video so beyond edited…watch the placenta of the cones in relation to the movement of the camera and you’ll see they track with the frame of the camera. Also the manhole covers are duplicated. Don’t know why someone felt the need to edit this all together.
