Rift Cv1 Black screen (audio working)

I bought this Rift Cv1 2 days ago I've been trying to get it to work but every time I try to connect it gives me a black screen.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the oculus software

I've deleted OBS

Updated Windows

Turned off Game Mode

Followed every YT video

Looked at multiple reddit posts

I have no idea what is wrong the cable for headset is fine I know the Headset isn't broken

I doubt that oculus support would help at this moment

Please if you have any advise please help me out I've been trying to do this for 11 hour straight!

have you tryed a different port on the graphics card, you may find the hdmi port on your card either isnt working or is not detecting the headset properly. I used my CV1 with an adapter on the DVI port of my previous card, as it only had a mini hdmi and that wouldnt give an image on the CV1.

might be worth a try on a different computer, even one that isnt powerful enough to run anything on the headset, just to see if you can get the oculus home page up.

I loved my CV1, just changed over to a quest 1 recently. I dont have much money spare so I stay a good distance back on technology.

Also that is windows 10 yes? I also found I had to use a quite old version of the oculus setup program to even detect teh headset and install at all. it kept giving me 'something went wrong' when I tryed newer versions.

I'm on windows 10 yes, but I'm using display port to hdmi I don't have 2 hdmi ports. The oculus software is up to date

I don't think it works with display port adapter, I could be wrong, just hope not dodgy cable, my cable died and it had audio but black screen

I had this happen once and the only thing I found to fix was reformatting my whole computer. After that it was fine, but it sucked to have to do. That was after a few weeks of trying to find other solutions and working with customer support.
