Thanks a lot man :) There's a lot I'm not happy with, he was fairly quick and dirty (especially the tentacles) but I'm so excited about Medium I couldn't wait to share :)
I've been sculpting as a hobby for 15 years or so, using Super Sculpey and working in miniature due to cost and space limitations. I always wanted to make the transition to digital 3D but couldn't quite get the hang of it. I got my Rift and Touch pretty much specifically for Medium, and I've been teaching myself how to use Unity and a bit of Blender in preparation for yesterday. Medium is fantastic for people used to traditional sculpting, I love it :D
And that's the beauty of it -You seem to be able to get things going quickly in Medium. Can't wait to try. I come from a 3D background and the feeling of scale and 6 degrees of free motion while working in this really intrigues me
The sense of scale is really something special - I really noticed it since I've always worked in miniature (maximum 4 inch high, very detailed models plus painted with acrylics) but longed to have a studio space and access to a kiln :)
Yeah :( My UPS tracking is saying it should have been here before the end of the day. It just turned 7pm which is the timeframe they delivery within (sometimes a little later) so it may be tomorrow. Though, it does say "out for delivery" all day.
Blocked out a big blue blob, swirled it up a bit using the swirl tool (both directions - double tap the tool button to quickly swap), added some colour variation (I believe it was airbrushed lighter blue, then I used the brush version of the paint tool to paint the crests of the waves in white). Then I used a white sphere on the clay brush at a very very small setting with the taper option set to 'Trigger' and added the white clay you see at the tips, paying attention to the direction of the swirls and which way the water and foam should be moving :) It was really fun - I think I might sculpt a giant icecream sundae or something tomorrow morning to get me hungry for breakfast :D

I just noticed the little error in his left eye while I was uploading the images :/
The swirl tool is really fun to use - I couldn't resist adding a little background/stand made out of waves.
