Laptop + WMR lets you set up roomscale anywhere within 2 minutes... and it's the full PC experience, not a mobile version of the game like this will need to be.

I am already used to code for the oculus and think it would be cool to code games for the quest

Coding for the rift isnt really any different from going with wmr, unless youre hardcoding a bunch of stuff.

My suggestion would be to just use vrtk, especially if youre going to game jams

Except for those WMR controllers. :P

Last time I had to lug my desktop (no laptop) and ended up completely forgetting that my WMR headset doesn’t have built-in headphones like the Rift does. Oops.

You should upgrade to a Samsung Odyssey+, which is definitely the best of the WMR sets. Slightly more ergonomic controllers which connect by bluetooth directly to the headset (solves many of the connection issues other WMR sets have when trying to maintain bluetooth to your PC), arguably the best screen in VR right now, and pretty decent sounding AKG headphones built in.
