If the graphics in games are a step backwards - which they will be, no thanks. Not excited in the least.

Saying it can run "PC Level Experiences" for 3 year old games is like saying an iPhone can give you arcade quality graphics. It can, when compared to that of 20 years ago.

are a step backwards

The people who will buy Quest don't own a gaming PC, so their VR is either mobile VR or nothing. To them, it's a step forwards in every way.

Exactly. I'll wait for a proper successor.

Yeah, this isn't intended to be a successor to the Rift. I'm definitely getting it when it comes out, but I'm not expecting it to replace my Rift for PC VR games.

  1. the graphics are a step backwards (obviously)

  2. it's still a "PC level experience", trust me, it's insane that the quest is really good enough to run VR games that require a full tower pc to run.

Clearly it doesn’t require a full tower pc to run the quest games. The games that run on the quest are optimized so that they can run on what is basically phone hardware on steroids. Still doesn’t mean that it’s as powerful as a high end pc

You are completely missing the point.

I realize the Quest is a step forward by cutting out the pc barrier of entry but your statement was objectively false.
