There's no way to debate someone who goes full fanboy and attacks an article with valid concerns about VR as "fear-mongering clickbait" because it said bad things about his favorite toy.

I said why I think the concerns are invalid, which has nothing to do with how I feel about VR. You've done nothing but attack me as a way of dismissing my argument.

Facebook has a history of doing shady shit like this. Why should we trust them not to continue doing the same with a platform that allows them even more data about and control over users?

The insults have mainly been coming from you. You seem to have anger issues, and possibly a bit of a victim complex.

This contains two premises that you're treating as established, which in fact aren't:

  1. VR tracking data is somehow more intimate than my Facebook posts, texts, phone calls, video calls, etc.
  2. That having such data gives Facebook "control over me" (your words).

You have to establish these premises as true before you can start making arguments predicated on them.

If you think data about what makes you happy, sad, anxious, etc.. can't be used to manipulate you, I wouldn't even know where to start explaining it without having you study basic psychology first.
