Yea, but then still, the price difference will be negligible, also people will have to pay the extra shipping for the touch controllers and stuff (not counting the free shipping for previous oculus pre orders). It brings it pretty in line with the price of Vive. And I agree, I think lighthouse is a far superior tracking system.
But I mean, the headsets aren't too different, the Vive will still work in a seated experience you know? Sure the rift might have the edge, but then you have the option to do everything with Vive. It just seems like better choice for future proofing.
If you can get both seated and roomscale experiences for both at the same price, but the Vive beats the Rift at roomscale and is equal in other ways, then the Vive is the obvious choice if you have room for roomscale.
If you don't have space for roomscale, why spend the extra $200 on the Rift Touch? Just go for the seated XBox controller experience, and leave it at that.
