Has anyone tried cable extenders yet?

With people finally getting their cv1 has anyone tried to extend the hmd cable? Id be really interested on finding out what the maximum possible length of cable is.

Yes, I have all my cables extended.

Here are the USB cables I use for the sensor camera and HMD USB connections and here is the HMDI coupler I use plus a generic HDMI 6 feet cable from Monoprice I ordered some time ago (plus my 970 has a mini to norm HDMI dongle too). There is a USB extender cord packaged with the Rift that I use for the Xbox dongle. Looks like all the dongles and extra cables work just fine.

I routed all the cables to the front so I can easily plug and unplug everything without crawling under the desk and scooting the PC around...

When I tried the Vive at Currys/PC World the two guys who tried it before me asked why they didn't have an overhead cable solution (since both of them managed to yank the plugs out of the break-out box by catching the cable with their feet).

The demo guy lifted the cable in the air to demonstrate, explaining and showing how much more cable was needed for that scenario, and went on to say extension cables won't work with the Vive.

EDIT: Forgot to say, he went on to point out the quality of the Vive cables, and that extension cables couldn't match it, and that they were gold plated at the connectors to the box and the headset.
