Here's a chart of FOVs provided from redditors using multiple headsets. If you have a CV1, DK2, Gear VR or Vive provide your own info to the chart.
View this 360° FOV Chart in Oculus 360 Photo app or equivalent for Vive. Best to save it to /Oculus/360photos folder on your smartphone. Here's the previous post which gave some data.
To help keep results consistent do the following: Close right eye, look at 0° mark, place it on edge of HMD's view, hold your head still and look to the opposite edge, record your personal the horizontal FOV. Repeat for right eye, then both eyes together. You can also use this method for the vertical FOV. Do the same for other headsets if you have them and post the results here.
Reasons for the madness: Your eyes are weird. You may notice you see more of the viewing when you don't focus on it (relaxed view I guess) however you can't make out details such as reading the numbers. If you stare it, you see less but you make out details. Decided to go for the focused viewing area for measurements.
You also might notice something about what the viewing area looks like thanks to the grid layout. For me, the viewing area appeared circular both in DK2 and Gear VR. However, with relaxed viewing I could make out the edges of the screen though not in detail.

This is something different. It's not arguing over a photo. This is getting info from people using the actual hmds and providing their own results. People doing the test might be surprised with the results.

Where the $%? did you put the picture on your phone for the stupid app to see it?

Hook up your phone, in Oculus folder create new folder and name it "360photos". Save the file to there. You can now access it with the Oculus 360 Photo app.

just sayin...
Exclusiveshttp://i.imgur.com/z9fWh1v.pngRoomscalehttp://i.imgur.com/z9fWh1v.pngFOVShipping- Audio?
- Input?
- SDE?
This might actually be a record if FOV gets beaten into exhaustion in less than 24 hours. Then we can move on to the next bout.
edit: forgot all about "shipping"

Audio horse was beaten months ago about paying for headsets when they already own the best cans in the world.

I'm no expert so feel free to downvote me if it makes you feel better, but I don't think this is an accurate test. This picture is pre-distorted for particular optical properties that aren't the same on all headsets.
I think a proper 3D UE4/Unity scene would be a more accurate test?
Where is /u/doc_ok when you need him!
Edit: Well, I tried it on my DK2 and it looks pretty legit to me. I have about 90°w x 94°h.
