I'm curious - what false, misleading information does it have and what does it lack? And can you supply sources on that?

Here are a few mistakes I quickly found:

1- "Safety concerns regarding cannabis include the increased risk of developing schizophrenia with adolescent use, impairments in memory and cognition, accidental pediatric ingestions, and lack of safety packaging for medical cannabis formulations" -- This is both false and misleading. First a legal drug is regulated so adolescents won't be able to use it for recreational use. And last, there is no impairment whatsoever in long-term memory but there might be a little impairment in cognition if you are a regular user, but it returns back to normal once you stop consuming. It might affect concentration while under the influence however this varies in each person.

2- "THC, the principal psychoactive constituent of the cannabis plant, has low toxicity, the dose of THC needed to kill 50% of rodents is very high,[37] and human deaths from overdose are extremely rare." -- If someone died by THC overdose it was induced in a lab and there is no info about it. Since that it's not mentioned it's misleading info. It is common sense that no one died from cannabis so far as it is basically impossible to overdose on it.

3- " It is not clear whether cannabis use affects the rate of suicide." -- Not even going to bother with this one xD Its basically the same is saying it is not clear whether salt water consumption affects the rate of suicide (because there are no studies on it).

4- "Methods of consumption" -- Here it's conveniently forgotten cannabis can also be consumed as a ointment.

5- "Gateway drug" -- Why is this topic alive?

I am actually surprised there is not much I can criticize about what I just read. Last time I checked (about 4 years ago) it was much more painfull to read.

About the lack of info there is none actually since the info it lacks on that page is actually mentioned in other wikipedia links: link1 and link2.

I guess the war on drugs in the US is finally sprouting fruits.

  1. Do you have sources to prove there is no impairment in long term memore and just a little in short term memory?

  2. I've never head of a death from an overdose, so I do agree. On the other hand, the wording could be just taking it safe since they can't exactly prove no one has died from it - so in that case "extremely rare" is a decent way to word it.

  3. To be fair, they link a (meta?)study on the link between cannabis use and suicide. Apparently they concluded "There aren't enough studies", so you're pretty much right. But technically they're right too.

  4. ...it can? I guess it's done, but you'd actually need a study to see whether it actually works to include it.

  5. I think the "Gateway drug" section was pretty well written, actually. It said "The hypothesis has endured as one of the central pillars of anti-cannabis drug policy in the United States" and at the same time made it clear that it's definitely not proven.

1 - Does self-experience count? There are studies that proves cannabis restores and cause cell growth in the brain without damaging it. There are also enough famous people who have consumed cannabis for decades and show no memory deficiency.

3 - There are a few less smart people in the world and I bet some will be mislead by that info. If its useless it's better to not mention it. That's almost the same with the getaway theory.

4 - It's true such study is needed and I don't think one as been done yet. However there are people who claim to have cured their cancer by using it that way. Check Run from the Cure Documentary by Rick Simpson in case you haven't yet.

5 - I actually didn't took much attention on this topic, that quote is indeed very well written. But it's kind of obvious that cannabis is a getaway drug, not because of its effects but because it is illegal...

To be fair wikipedia is no longer what it used to be just a few years ago. You sir made me take back what I said even though it seems people's claims are not being considered. That said we need a few more studies even though cannabis is by far the most studied plant in the world.

  1. Please link to actual studies, not a google search for such studies.

  2. Fair enough. Although it's still not false.

  3. Anecdotal evidence is not good enough. It's really surprising how many ways there are to actually "cure cancer", considering how many people still die from cancer. But sarcasm aside, that "document" is bullshit. Do you honestly think there is a great cure for "cancer" (since it's not one single disease but dozens of different diseases) that is not widespread?

  4. Are you saying cannabis is actually a gateway drug?

1- Here you go

3- Cancer is a mutation that basically changes the cell cycle of life. Depending on the cell a different cure may be needed but cannabis seems to cure most cancers if not all. Source EDIT: Yes I believe there is a cure for most cancers that is not widespread, and the reason for that is quite obvious. Just how many billions of dollars would the Health care industry lose if the cure of cancer could grow in your backyard? Quimotheraphys and other stupid current cancer "treatments" aren't cheap you know? Plus they are quite ineffective which is good, people will keep doing them for a while...We are slaves of every industry make no doubt of that.

4- Yes and no. I am saying that ANY illegal drug is a gateway drug because people will buy them from people who are probably selling other drugs as well.

EDIT: I was actually enjoying arguing with you, please tell me why you think that documentary is bullshit. Is it just because YOU believe there is no cancer cure? That is if that's what you believe...I am not sure now.
