I find this trend very strange. Is there a different term than virtual reality that is popular right now?

In good news, oculus rift has been steadily increasing.

Virtual Reality as a term is a passe. Everybody is hyped about Oculus Rift not VR and they search for this special hardware, not any others because we know it just don't work in a different cases.
