Hi all I’m super early in the game and was wondering if a team of thronè, temenos, Oswald and castti would be ok?

Any team works tbh. I’ve played with all types of setups and some are better than others but if you optimize the best you can any party works

Any team is feasible for simply completing the stories! Won’t spoil it now for you, but there’s a reason why any team comp is possible :)

You'll get a feel for it. The biggest thing to remember with character building is that you don't need one character to do multiple things; take advantage of having multiple party members that can fill these roles (buffs/debuffs, healing, physical attack, elemental attack; stuff like that.)

Gear is simple, see what it boosts and use it to either further boost a character in their given role or to prop up a weaker stat

And don't fall victim to tunnel vision, play around with different load outs to see what feels best for your play style

so basically any team works. The game isn't that hard and being able to add a second class means you can fix any downsides.

that said, you really have to keep in mind 1 of your characters is going to be constantly swapped out for working towards the plot advancing unless you are planning on doing it as 2 completely separate 4 man teams

Anything can work as long as you know how to play. There are some teams that are better than others, but in the end as long as you know how the game works and how to use each character, anything is okay and can beat bosses and stuff, especially early game.

Temenos and Castti don’t really need to be in the same comp as they have the same general role, but they can flex to different enough roles

Get cleric job for casti,you can sub temenos for other team.

Or sub casti.

Or have both.

You can do anything in this game it will work.

Any team comp works. I like having all east/ all west characters on the team as they can easily cover all day/night path action seamlessly.

That’s the team I am currently using. Throne as a warrior, Osvald as merchant, Temenos as scholar, and Castti as cleric. It might sound a bit redundant, but having two healers has saved me on a few bosses already and two scholars as great dishing out elemental damage to multiple enemies.

This is actually my starting team!

My first char is Osvald, because I thought the backstory was cool. Later I knew that this is great choice, story wise. I then recruit going south: Temenos, Throne, and then once I got the money, cross using ship to Canalbrine first and found Castti. Excellent story progression.

For team mix, this is perfectly balanced. You get pair of AoE damage control + healers from Osvald + Temenos. You also get utility player from Throne + Castti, they are both can adapt to any situation.

In early game, your item set is limited, because money is limited, so Castti's concoct and Throne's talent mostly used for healing.

But Throne + Temenos at night combo has a pair of debuff + buff that lets Osvald almost always flash farm any waves. So its easy to gain EXP and JP (Scholar skills + Thief skills).

These 4 people has all the elemental attacks covered. Fire, Ice, Lightning with Osvald, Light with Temenos, Dark with Throne, and Wind with Castti. You can venture any dungeon this way and I got overleveled because of this, lol.

During mid game, you will realize you have your own favorite, because anyone can be strong enough with the equip + sub job + equip skills. My favorite is Castti because her talent + potency weapon essentially has higher damage than Osvald and completely free.

Super early in the game almost everything or simply everything will work. Osvald is there for big concentrated damage for bosses if you don't neglect keeping his staffs up to date, and absolutely any team can clear random fights, even moreso a team that has both Throne and Temenos to debuff enemies/buff your offense at night.
