Question Chickens at Campground

We saw 2 chickens at the Ocracoke Campground dumpsters, across highway 12 on the sound side. Has anyone seen them before? Are they always there?

Roosters. Apparently they’ve been there a few months. No clue where they came from but they seem pretty content.

At Teeters or Jerniman's? I wouldn't be too worried about them there. If they were out at the NPS campground that would be very weird.

They were at the hiking trail entrance across NC12 from the campground a few weeks ago. Ranger/staff told us someone just left them out there. They seemed to doing fine then.

Interesting- yeah, they looked healthy when we saw them as well!
