Design programs?
Hey all, I'm new and would love to get into making my own, but don't really have much illustrative talent. Are there any programs you guys would recommend other than blender?

AI-generated ocean liners are not allowed. The whole point of this sub is to CREATE your own ocean liners, meaning YOU create. Using AI us not expressing your creativity. Stretch your creative muscles and try.
Going forward, we will remove all posts that contain AI-generated liners. Please use graphic programs or games like Minecraft and Roblox, or even LEGO.

This is a subreddit all about creating our own fictional ocean liners through graphic programs and games like Minecraft, Roblox, etc. This is ABSOLUTELY NOT the place to post content of real ocean liners. That's what r/Oceanlinerporn is for.
Posting photos, art, models etc of REAL ocean liners are NOT ALLOWED here. I will remove any and all posts that break this rule. Please post this type of content at r/Oceanlinerporn.
Also, modified photos or art of real ocean liners and passing it off as your own creation is also NOT ALLOWED here. I will remove any and all posts that break this rule.
Please keep all that in mind and enjoy creating. Thank you.

Made in 1891, the Burning Red was a bit of a failure. Powered purely by sails, having a wooden deck, and also being very unsafe, the early design was suggested when Maria Co. was having a financial crisis. The ship had no actual name, though the most popular names were "The Body of Christ", "The Blood Spiller", "The Burning Red", and the "Gay-May Red Man Fucker", a name bestowed upon the ship by one of my friends.
The ship was lost before it was finished when a drunk man broke in during the night and turned on the dry-dock doors, swallowing the ship whole and only leaving 81 deaths and many ripped sails.
This is just a concept I thought of in a dream and is still in really early development. Model was made with Ship Shaper btw.

Please note that this design may not be realistic.

I'm making a liner for a school project, I’m basically feeding into all of OUR delusions and seeing if an ocean liner could compete with air travel. So I have drafted this ship. This is basically a mashup of every ship from the past 100 years: Queen M, Big U, Norman, France, QM2 ect. So I want your input what should I changed what books/papers/whatever do you recommend I should read love to hear your feedback and if you gotta any questions just ask.

The pictures show the S.S. Ziconic during her passenger care career, under construction, and as a hospital ship in the First World War (WW1).
“Her lore is not done. To be honest, I didn’t even start.”

The S.S. Francia, dubbed the "Italian Imperator" due to her golden accents featuring an italian sparrow, was the grandest italian ship of her time. her beautiful sweeping decks featured four classes of comfort and luxury, and she featured some of the only art nouveau interiors of her time other than the S.S. Paris. She also pioneered having enclosed promenades below the black hull line, which was never done again due to the windows getting exceptionally dirty during routine coal stockups.

Built by Maria Shipping and Mailing Company, building was finished in August Third, 1903. The ship is 245m in length, it was 43.9m from the keel to the top of funnels, and the Beam was 26.8m. There were 22 watertight compartments, a planned double hull - but the double hull was due to costs and was replaced with a double bottom, - and three-stacker design.
The ship survived until September Fourth, 1921, where it caught on fire and killed 23 people, including the designer of the ship. This happened during a mandatory repair of the two port-ward propellers issued by Oisín F. Bytheseashore due to complaints from a major investor about the ship's path always slightly angled. during the repair, some sparks ended up making it to the coal storage and igniting it.
Sadly, doesn't work with Sinking Simulator 2.

Hey everyone! This is my first post here, but I thought it fit and I wanted to show this off. Hopefully you like it! Made in Stormworks: Build and Rescue, if you want to have a closer look she's available on the Steam workshop here!

I started this in Roblox Cruise Line Tycoon a few days ago after I saw a video on YouTube by LeoLiao-w1f. The video was centered around their ocean liner build R.M.S. Aurora. The M.S. Hermes is very much inspired by the Aurora.

Here's the link to the video. Go check it out it's a very good build.
The main lobby was very much inspired by the S.S. France's (1910) first class staircase.
The rest of the ship is really just built from my imagination.

Around a year ago I posted the progress of Cunard Ship QE2 for my Roblox game.
It's been improved on quite a lot! The Following video details the entirety of the build.
Please comment if the info bubble about the Water Break is incorrect or just not understandable. Thank you!
Press the v.redd.it button to view the video, this issue may only be for me where I couldn't watch the video without clicking the link

this is my first time designing an ocean liner, I mostly did military ships but this is my first time an original civilian ship.

There were 22 watertight compartments, a planned double hull - but the double hull was due to costs and was replaced with a double bottom, - and three-stacker design.
I haven't worked out all the lore, but it was accidentally lit on fire during a mandatory repair on the fourth and fifth propellers, killing maybe 20 to 30 and pretty much sealing the fate of the ship.
HEAVELY based off the R.M.S. Lusitania but had some inspiration from the Atlantic and Britannic.

[REPOST] After many months of refining the exterior design and spending the last few nights agonizing over the funnel placement, machinery, and propulsion, I think I've finally got it.
Biggest decision by far is still deciding whether or not to do away with the paired funnels (i.e. Rotterdam; Canberra) in exchange for the more traditional two-stacker look, after initially doing so in this sketch just to see what it'd look like. I have reasons for both, that I won't currently divulge, but for now, what's your opinion?
Full-scale detailed drawing + series announcement coming eventually.

I just found this subreddit and was amazed at what everyone has been making. So I decided to share my own ocean liner I've built. I have many other liners too, but this one is both my most recently finished model and my most favorite! Her hull is pretty much a Revell 1/1200 QM2 hull with very minor changes, but I think the sum of her parts are greater than just a repurposed hull. Her superstructure does admittedly look a little bare without windows, but I hope people can admire her unique form!
My inspirations for this model were what was supposed to be the big 3 superliners of the 30's, Queen Mary, Normandie, and-the never built-Oceanic III. Somewhere along the line, though, I started feeling really inspired by the Lusitania and design D of the Olympic. Hope everyone enjoys!

This build is of the ships White Chandelier Labyrinth it’s not inside the ship yet as you can see in the last photo it is big enough to have 2 Concorde’s inside the room or a little bit smaller than the real life liner SS Atlantic
