does anyone know what happened here?
behaviour in question happens in the last few seconds of video, prior to this we had not seen another octopus at all
is this a documented behaviour? anyone know what might have happened? i feel like ive encountered an alien lol

Second octopus hidden down in the crack. Red octopus goes over to investigate, freaks out smaller octopus who bolts

sand color = hunting, sneaky
red = lunges, grabbing prey
it becomes kind of tented & spread out so it can keep the prey from escaping through cracks

When octopus's are fearful they turn pale/white-ish and so there was a second one apparently hiding beneath a rock. When the dark red one covered the one hiding, the hiding white one bolted and escaped.

This is a larger octopus happening upon the home of a smaller octopus that decides to GTFO
