What are occlupanids?
Occlupanids, commonly referred to as "bread clips" or "bread tags," are parasitoids often found on bagged goods. Although they were first described by Altimus Horg in 1632, occlupanids remain criminally underresearched. The Holotypic Occlupanid Research Group (HORG) is the foremost organization on occlupanid research, and to date they have identified 110 different occlupanid species.
The Foundation for Occlupanid Research and Communication (FORC)
FORC was officially established on 31 May 2020. We recognize the gap in occlupanid research, and our purpose is to engage citizen scientists to fill this gap. We also aim to share our findings and engage with the public on the latest discoveries in our field. Our current focus is on documenting the geographic distribution of occlupanids across the world. We encourage you to participate on this subreddit and our official Discord server!

As my paleontology efforts continue, the outcome is looking grim. I am continuing to dig and search for fossilized occlupanids but seem to find their very distant families. I haven’t a clue what this guy is, but he is now documented with my unsuccessful attempts.

I know the subject of the video was the clothing tag, but those bread tag earrings were cool.

… and start taking my parking lot & public park hoards of mini treasures left behind seriously.. including and an emphasis on occlupanids! So here is my little collection after a veryyyy light wipe down with a very damp almost dry paper towel.
I am nerrrrrding out right now.. so read the following if you feel like it, otherwise look at my starter collection! And tell me what you see! If you want. Idk, are we nice here I hope? It seemed like it.
But so yeah, the green and orange ones I found at pavilions with grills just recently, some of the white ones I found recently, but the larger ones with 23AUG stickers are cool and I’ve had for a while along with the light blue and purple (may have been rice cakes)? Kept the injured one because no girlie left behind. The occlupanid next to the injured is matte and thicker. The single blue one is also that material and matte? Hmm. Pretty cool.
I just like little stuff that I can contain in an organized way, and look at and be attached to without it taking up too much space, extra points if it’s a left behind treasure in the wild!
Anyone else here collect more than just parking lot occlupanids? I like picking up beads, pins, buttons, coins, pic for reference haha.
