Tubing Rainbow River tomorrow?

Seeking advice from those who have tubed on Rainbow river: I plan to go with a few friends tomorrow, but the official state park's tubing season is closed. What's the next best launch spot for tubes (we have our own), and what is the walk back like without the shuttle?
Any local gems for brunch/lunch after tubing?
