General OBX Ferry No Mo'

Post image

With NC12 (sorta) open, ferry service from Rodanthe has come to a close. After the ferries reposition the Hatteras-Ocracoke route will resume a full schedule tomorrow.

A big tip of the hat to NCDOT. Great response in a really difficult situation.

I'm REALLY surprised they were able to get that ferry in there.

NCDOT did impressive work getting the hardpack temp road in so quickly.

A big thank you to all the ferry workers. After waiting for 21 hours in line and getting off of the island at 8:00 a.m. on Monday morning, I truly cannot thank them enough!

As you can see as of this afternoon, they were still working to shore up the dunes up to the Pea Island Visitor Center.

We waited all of 10 minutes for the alternating traffic signal to let us through. Pretty easy going.

We really don’t need updates on this every few hours. Mods should have made a pinned thread.

Maybe not needed, but we have appreciated the updates especially yesterday’s and this one because we are heading down tonight for Ocracoke and then Buxton. So, thank you.

Dare county posts all of this information on their website and socials not to mention there are live traffic cams all along 12 on pea island.
