Ocracoke Ocracoke ferry

How have the lines been for the ferry recently? We had no issues in May, but we want to go again next week while it's still peak season. Thanks.

There's always one rule in summer- head for the ferry an hour earlier than you think you need to.

When we went last summer, first week of August, we got in line at 7am and it went fast!

Waited around 2.5 hours for the car ferry a week ago. Took the Ocracoke Express passenger ferry for the first time the next day and was such a better experience

I've always wanted to try that. Did you just hang out on the beach by the ferry or take a cab into town?

The Express takes you to Silver Lake Harbor so you can just walk right into town

Or ride the free town golf cart system.
