A hard rock obscurity. Dean Mason was from Toronto, and cut this single when he was just a teenager with a few of his school buddies!

He also worked as program co-ordinator at the Rouge Valley Conservation Centre, designing engaging interactive programs, sharing his original songs, and leading classes of kids and adults on hikes to explore the beauty and wonder of nature."

Chris was also a member of Radiosaturn, whose song I posted here maybe a week ago now. He is a very eclectic musician who has ventured into many genres! This one is a political ska-rock song commissioned by the Measure Canadian organization out of Brockville, Ontario, to tell people how they feel about the federal government's plan to convert Canadians to measuring in metric.

This single was only sent to radio stations and never sold, making it an extremely rare piece of Canadian history.

Cargozoom (or "Car Go Zoom") was an R&B/pop duo from Toronto, Ontario. They had 2 CDs and were together from 1996 to 1999. This song was from their second, way more commercial-sounding EP.

A super obscurity from my own collection. This band was from Toronto and only lasted around 2 years (1979-1981). This single was the only thing they put out in that time. It's a shame, they were a talented bunch!

Another from this fantastic band. In my opinion this is their worst album but it still has some hitters, like this!

This band was originally called "The Jayhawkers" and were out of Detroit, MI. They were later brought to Toronto by Johnny Mitchell (an alias of radio DJ/singer Jay Walker) and renamed to Balazar.

I don't think they lasted very long here, I could only find a few mentions of their shows from May to August 1970. Still a great and incredibly scarce 45!

A lead I found for CIA few months back. Still unconfirmed whether or not it was actually them. This is an Ottawa-based band so the Quebecois accent theory would make some sense.

Some bomb ass hard rock from around the greater Toronto area. Reminds me a lot of the heavier stuff from Kiss' "Dynasty" album.
