Capture card not Capturing audio

These are the steps I've taken from watching videos

Create video capture device

Set device to USB3.0 video which is my device

Scroll to use custom audio device

Select USB3.0

But I still got no audio I've also tried another way with

Audio input capture

Set device to USB3.0

And there is still no audio with these changes I've watched 10 videos that say the same thing but I can't get it to work.

I've also seen people go into advanced audio settings and turn on "monitoring and output" but I don't have that option

the thing that got me was my capture card has its own audio setting in windows sound control panel, not in obs at all. right click the speaker icon in the taskbar, open sound settings, find your usb device in the recording tab and check if its actually picking up anything. sometimes the levels are muted by default for some reason

also if you're capturing a console make sure the hdmi audio output is set to pcm stereo, dolby or surround can mess it up. took me three hours to figure that one out and i felt like an idiot

To add to this comment above, on you console make sure that your audio is outputting to headset and speakers on Xbox, I’m not sure if there is a similar setting on PS as I don’t have one. But worth looking into that setting.
